The biggest change in NBA 2K27 for people who play with a team is that Pro-Am is gone and Crews have replaced it. Your Crew gets its own Crew HQ with courts to practise on. It plays ranked Crew Games against crews of a similar rank, climbs through six ranked tiers and plays for a spot in the end-of-season divisional tournaments. That’s a lot of structure, and it only pays off with five people who show up on the same nights.
The REC will always give you four teammates. They won’t pass, they won’t play their position, and they won’t be there next week. A Crew needs a point guard who runs the offence, bigs who rebound and set screens, and a schedule everyone keeps.

- Does NBA 2K27 have cross-play?
- Partly. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S play together. PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch 2 each have their own separate player pools and don't cross-play with consoles or with each other. Progress doesn't carry across platforms either, so your MyPLAYER and VC stay on the platform where you earned them.

- 4 September 2026. Owners of the Deluxe and Ultra editions got early access from 26 August. It's on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch 2. 2K says NBA 2K27 is only on current-generation platforms, so there's no PS4 or Xbox One version.
