Gears of War: E-Day arrives on 6 October 2026. It’s set fourteen years before the original Gears of War, on the day the Locust first erupt from below. It gives you three ways to play together, and each one is its own “I need people” problem: campaign co-op for up to four players as Bravo Squad, Horde Siege, where twelve players in three squads of four fight the Locust across one shared map, and 4v4 Versus, with Ranked playlists from launch.
The number that matters is four. Random fill is fine for a Social Team Deathmatch. It’s a bad bet for a Horde Siege run where your classes have to cover each other, or for a Ranked climb. Settle the practical questions first. E-Day is on Xbox Series X|S and PC (the Xbox app and Steam), with cross-play and shared progression, and it’s day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
