How Many People Play Fall Guys in 2026? (Is It Dead?)

This is an unusual entry in this series, because the honest answer is not a number. Nobody publishes a real player count for Fall Guys — and the two figures you will find if you search are both wrong, in ways worth understanding.

Why there is no official number

Fall Guys went free-to-play on 21 June 2022 and moved to the Epic Games Store, alongside PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, with cross-play and cross-progression. None of those platforms publish live concurrent player counts the way Steam does.

So there is no public source to query. Epic and Mediatonic have never released one. That is the entire reason this question has no clean answer.

The two numbers you’ll see, and why both are broken

The Steam Charts figure — a few hundred concurrent players. This one is real data, and it is still deeply misleading. Fall Guys was delisted from Steam on the same day it went free-to-play. Players who already owned it there keep access and still receive updates, but nobody new can buy it on Steam. So the Steam figure counts a closed, slowly shrinking legacy group that has been unable to grow since June 2022. Quoting it as “Fall Guys’ player count” is like measuring a city’s population by counting people who still have a landline.

For scale: Fall Guys peaked at 172,055 concurrent players on Steam back in 2020, when Steam was the only PC storefront it was on. Those two numbers are not measuring the same thing at all.

The six-figure counts on tracking sites. Several popular trackers will confidently tell you Fall Guys has around 113,000 players. Read their methodology and you find the number is modelled from Google Trends search interest. That is a measure of how many people are searching for Fall Guys, not how many are playing it. It spikes when a streamer picks the game up and falls when they move on — which tells you exactly what it is tracking.

Neither figure should be repeated as fact. If you see a site quoting one without the caveat, that is a good signal about the rest of its numbers too.

So is it dead?

No — and the useful version of that answer is a test you can run yourself in about two minutes.

Launch the game, turn cross-play on, and time how long the main modes take to fill. If a show starts in seconds, the population is fine for your purposes. That test beats every tracking site, because it measures the only population that actually affects you: people queuing on your platform, in your region, at the hour you play.

Fall Guys is unquestionably far below its 2020 viral peak — that peak was a genuine cultural moment and was never going to be the baseline. But it is free, it is on every major platform, it has cross-play, and it still ships seasonal content. Those are not the characteristics of an abandoned game.

Where you will feel thin numbers is in the less-played modes and at off-peak hours in smaller regions. That is a real limitation and it is worth knowing before you install.

The part that actually matters

The reason people search “is it dead” is almost never academic. It is usually one of two worries: will I get into a match, and will I have anyone to play with.

The first has a two-minute answer above. The second has nothing to do with the global population at all — a party game is dramatically better with people you know, and that is true whether the game has ten thousand players or ten million. Fall Guys with four friends who are actually online at the same time as you is a completely different experience from Fall Guys solo-queued into a lobby of strangers.
