GTFO doesn’t pretend to be a game for randoms. 10 Chambers calls it a hardcore cooperative horror shooter, and it means it. Four prisoners go down into the Complex with limited ammo and a plan, and one player who wakes a room of sleepers can end the expedition for everyone. Stealth only works if all four agree on when to move, who takes which target and when to stop.
It also won’t find those people for you. There’s no queue that matches you with strangers, so if your friends don’t own it, you’re playing with bots or hunting for a team somewhere else. Since Rundown 8.0 in December 2023 the game has been content-complete, and every expedition is waiting for a team good enough to clear it.
