How to Find People to Play Warframe With in 2026
Most of Warframe is soloable, and then you reach the content that isn’t. Archon Hunts and Netracells punish four damage frames with no survivability. In Temporal Archimedea you can’t revive yourself, so your squad has to. And since 7 October, The Icebind asks for something Warframe has never asked for before: six players, all premade. Recruiting chat will get you a squad for one run. Here’s how to find people who stay for the next one in 2026.
Why a standing squad beats recruiting chat
Recruiting chat has the same flaw it has always had. Your post is gone in seconds, the people who would have been perfect for the run log in an hour later, and the squad you get leaves after the first failure. Public matchmaking is fine for most star-chart missions. It’s much less fine for weekly content with limited attempts, where a wipe costs everyone a run.
A standing squad gets better every week. You stop re-explaining the mechanics, you know who brings the healing and who brings the crowd control, and you can plan builds around each other instead of hoping four random loadouts fit together.
Know what you want a group for
Warframe’s endgame is several different “I need people” problems, and each one wants a different squad:
- The Icebind (since 7 October): a 6-player mode for players who’ve unlocked Elite Deep or Temporal Archimedea. There’s no public matchmaking and no playing short-handed, so you need five other people ready at the same time. It runs three times a week, and every run guarantees a Riven Splicer.
- Deep and Temporal Archimedea: level 250 to 375 enemies, best attempted in a full squad. In Temporal Archimedea you can’t revive yourself, so a squad that watches each other matters.
- Archon Hunts and Netracells: weekly content for up to four, where a planned team spends its limited attempts well.
- The Descendia: 21 floors with a weekly rotation, from The Old Peace.
- Railjack: a squad of four with jobs to split between pilot, gunners and boarders.
Pick the content first. A squad built for Eidolon-style precision play and a squad built to farm relics on a Sunday afternoon aren’t the same group.
Agree on these before the first run
- Platform. Cross-play covers PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and mobile, so platform rarely stops you playing together. It does affect trading: you can’t trade Platinum between Switch and other platforms, and cross-platform trading needs two-factor authentication on PC.
- Frames and roles. Agree who brings healing or damage reduction, who brings crowd control and who brings damage. Six players in The Icebind gives you room for a real split, and it’s where this matters most: only one of each Warframe can enter, so settle who’s bringing what before you ring the bell.
- Progress. The newest endgame has quest gates: The Icebind needs Angels of the Zariman and Whispers in the Walls completed, and Elite Temporal or Elite Deep Archimedea unlocked. Check everyone has them before you set a night.
- Schedule. Weekly content resets on Mondays at 0:00 UTC. Pick a regular night early in the week so nobody misses the reset.
Join or build a clan
A clan is the long-term version of a squad. Your clan shares a Dojo, where members research blueprints and build rooms from the Clan Vault. Clans come in five tiers by size:
| Tier | Members |
|---|---|
| Ghost | up to 10 |
| Shadow | up to 30 |
| Storm | up to 100 |
| Mountain | up to 300 |
| Moon | up to 1,000 |
Bigger tiers pay more for research, which is why many small groups stay Ghost or Shadow clans. Update 42, The Shadowgrapher, made clans more useful for squads:
- Clan Only matchmaking pairs you with clan and alliance members who are in public matchmaking.
- Clan Vault Resource Bonus: two clanmates in a squad add 10% per player, three add 15%, and a full squad adds 20%. The bonus goes to the Clan Vault for research and Dojo rooms.
- Weekly Initiatives and a weekly planet bonus give a clan something to run together every week.
A small clan of people you actually play with is often better than a Moon clan full of strangers. If a clan’s chat is quiet, the Clan Only queue will be too.
What’s coming this autumn
Iceblade of Narin, Update 44, landed on 23 September with Narin, the 66th Warframe, and a Banshee rework. The Icebind followed on 7 October. Epoch Operation: Taubound runs from 15 October to 17 November, a one-time event on Eris with no reruns, alongside a permanent Tau Prologue quest. Warframe: Tau, the first new star system, was revealed at TennoCon 2026 and is due later this year, though Digital Extremes hasn’t given a date. This year’s Halloween event, Nights of Naberus, runs from 1 October to 2 November.
That’s a lot of squad content in a short window, and a one-time event with no reruns is the worst time to be looking for people.
Where to look in 2026
Recruiting chat, clan recruitment threads, subreddits and Discord servers all have the same gap. There’s no good way to find regular squadmates who match your platform, your frames and the content you want to run. A “LF5 Icebind, EU evenings, need healer” post gets buried in minutes.
That’s the gap PaxJax fills. Instead of starting over every week, you can:
- Filter players by platform, frames and content, so the people you find fit the run.
- Jump into Warframe game chat to find players who are online and looking right now.
- Send an Invite to Play directly, so getting six people together takes one tap each.
- Save a standing squad with a Looking-for-Team profile, so the same players come back for next week’s reset.
Turn one good run into a standing squad
When a run goes well, because someone kept the squad alive, someone read the mechanics out loud and nobody left after a wipe, don’t let those players disappear. Add them, invite them to your clan, and set a regular night. Six players who’ve done The Icebind together once will do it faster the second time.
The Tenno worth keeping are the same in every mode. They bring what the squad needs, they stay after a failed run, and they turn up for the reset. Find five of those before your next Icebind run.

Frequently asked questions
- How many players are in a Warframe squad?
- Up to four in most missions, including Railjack, where NPC crew fill any empty stations. The exception is The Icebind, a 6-player mode that launched on 7 October 2026. Relays, the social hubs, hold up to 50 players.
- What is The Icebind in Warframe?
- The Icebind, previously called Glacial Defiance, is Warframe's first 6-player endgame mode. It launched on 7 October 2026 after being held back from the Iceblade of Narin update. There's no public matchmaking and the host can only start it with a squad of six, so you need a full premade squad, with no two players on the same Warframe. You can run it three times a week, and every run guarantees a Riven Splicer.
- Is Warframe cross-platform?
- Yes. Warframe has cross-play and Cross Platform Save across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android, and a native Nintendo Switch 2 version arrived in March 2026. There are a few exceptions: Platinum you bought doesn't transfer when you link accounts, and you can't trade Platinum between Nintendo Switch and other platforms.
- How do Warframe clans work?
- A clan shares a Dojo, where members research blueprints and build rooms from the Clan Vault. Clans come in five tiers by size, from Ghost (up to 10 members) to Moon (up to 1,000), and bigger tiers pay more for research. Since Update 42, squads of clanmates add a resource bonus to the Clan Vault, and Clan Only matchmaking pairs you with clan and alliance members.
- What is coming to Warframe in late 2026?
- The Icebind launched on 7 October. Epoch Operation: Taubound runs from 15 October to 17 November as a one-time event on Eris, alongside a permanent Tau Prologue quest. Warframe: Tau, the first new star system, revealed at TennoCon 2026, is due later in 2026, but Digital Extremes hasn't given a date.
- How do I find people to play Warframe with?
- Recruiting chat will fill a squad, but your post scrolls away in seconds and the right players might log in an hour later. On PaxJax you can filter players by platform, the frames they play and the content they run, send an Invite to Play, and save a standing squad, so your weekly Archon Hunt or Icebind run has the same people every time.
